Mocking by Jay
Landing page for a record label with the main purpose of booking artists.
UX/UI Design | Web
Project Overview
Summary
Mocking by Jay - a major record label that is mostly focused on rap music - wanted me to design a landing page for their website. Mocking by Jay manages loads of different artists and therefore are quite a large company whose image is changing constantly.
Role
As the sole UX/UI Designer I had to design a simple landing page that would be mainly used for people to book artists through. However, they also wanted me to design something you could click to book a studio session and something to see more about the artists or the label. They wanted me to primarily use the colors red and black and for it to be clean, meaning not too crowded with buttons and images and such.
Problem
With their constantly changing label's image, there often also comes an update within the look of the label's website. Since it has been quite some time since their website has had a redesign, they felt like it was the right time for one.
Solution
A landing page made up of the colors red and black where you can click to book an artist, book a studio session, read more about the company, read more about the artists, and see all the artist releases.

Successes
I was able to successfully deliver a landing page for Mocking by Jay. I also learnt - by gathering feedback - what potential users wanted and expected to see in the website beyond the businesses requirements. I also was able to provide the company with a logo, a color palette, the typography for the website, and high-fidelity prototype.
Learning Opportunities
I learned how to put my theory to practice. I was able to implement my knowledge on Web Design and learn more along the way when I encountered barriers. One of these barriers was learning to use Interactive Components rather than using Smart Animate, to be able to use my time, project space, and animations more effectively.
